Maybe I should mention right off the bat that I liked not only
the anime but also the manga. But before you close this tab in
frustration, let me at least explain why I think Darling in the FranXX
was good. It’s easy to say it’s nothing but a Neon Genesis Evangelion knockoff.
I disagree, though, because there are major differences between the two.
In DarliFra, the mechs are piloted by two people who merge together
a bit like in Pacific Rim. There are also more of these mechs, and
they’re more diverse. There are more pilots themselves, each with a different
personality, and their relationships with one another are interesting to follow.
I also like the approach to the manga as an “alternate version” of this
story. However, one could accuse the series of relying too heavily on
“fan service” to sell the whole thing, and I can agree that there’s quite a lot
of it (the manga also boasts some interesting bonus illustrations).
But it’s worth looking past the suggestive artwork and getting to know
Darling in the FranXX as a whole. Of course, it might not be everyone’s
cup of tea. For an 8-volume manga and a 24-episode anime, the plot is
shallow and, for some reason, picks up speed significantly toward the end.
Still, I recommend it.

Może od razu wspomnę że mi się podobało nie tylko anime ale też manga.
Zanim jednak ze złości zamkniesz kartę to chociaż wytłumaczę dlaczego uważam
że Darling in the FranXX było dobre. Łatwo powiedzieć że to nic tylko podróbka
Neon Genesis Evangelion. Ja jednak się nie zgadzam, ponieważ są duże różnice
pomiędzy tą dwójką. W DarliFra mechy pilotują dwie osoby, które łączą się
ze sobą trochę jak w Pacific Rim. Tych mechów jest również więcej i są
bardziej różnorodne. Samych pilotów jest więcej, każdy ma inną osobowość
a ich relacje między sobą się ciekawie śledzi. Podoba mi się również podejście
do mangi jako „wersji alternatywnej” tej historii. Można jednak zarzucić
tej serii zbytnie poleganie na „fan service” aby sprzedać całość, i mogę się
zgodzić że jest tego tam dość dużo (Manga też się szczyci dodatkowymi
ciekawymi rysunkami). Ale warto spojrzeć za sugestywne ilustracje i poznać
Darling in the FranXX jako całość. Oczywiście, nie każdemu może się spodobać.
Jak na 8 tomową mangę oraz anime z 24 odcinkami to fabuła jest płytka oraz
z jakiegoś powodu pod koniec bardzo przyspiesza. Ja jednak polecam.
